Characters Drawn in Harmony

I now have Ido, Elissa and Amos drawn up in Harmony, Amos is designed bigger then both Ido and Elissa even thought the picture does not portray this well. I am not 100% happy with Elissa but mostly it is because of her face which I will be changing as I animate it anyway. Both characters are coloured two tones which will be more difficult to animate, however I think it looks much better this way. I also plan to do a younger version of Ido, without wrinkles and a browner beard for the flashbacks with Elissa.

Concept Art

Concept Art

I have been trying hard to come up with a style that fits my animation emotionally and aesthetically, this style was inspired by the last video I posted with the grainy texture layered over the top. I will have to rework the scene as I am not happy with the angles that were originally on my animatic, however, I think this could work as a style for my animation

Toonboom Harmony

I am getting used to working in harmony slowly, this it my first character outline for Ido, will need to work out my connections in order to colour how I want him to look, it is proving more difficult then I thought.

2D animation Styles

2D Animations Inspiration

Red

I like the style of this animation as it is sketchy but still able to portray the emotions of the characters, the colour pallet is also nice as its tinted red. This could work for my animation but with a different coloured tint.

Un Sacre Marriage

This animation is done in a two toned style, I like the subtle colours that are used in the background. The characters stand out because textures have been used in the environment to separate the two

Short Movie
For this animation I like the texture that has been layered over the top of the images, it gives it a dated feeling that I think would work well with my animation

BDM 236 Animation Research

For my 2D animation I plan on using the same story from my previous Storyboard about Ido the Greek Potter. I have been researching what types of styles could be effective for my story and am drawn to the old Classical Disney style. The characters are outlined in black while backgrounds are decorative but a darker tone then the characters. I like the colour pallets for both Jungle Book and the Sword in the Stone as they are not overly bright. I think this could work well for my story.
