“Ido”
By Madilyn Davidson
INT. HOUSE – MIDDAY
The scene opens with
a view of Ido’s bed, a rough blanket thrown over it and pans to the left to
reveal a dusty Lyre and broken pots lying on the ground. Ido, a weathered old
man is sitting at his desk elbows up and face in his hands, a half finished
kantharos vase and some bread crumbs are on the desk in front of him. There is
a loud bang and the door is swung open a large man with a look of authority and
importance fills the doorway. He announces that he would like a vase to be made
for his symposium later in the week and if Ido does a good job he will be
allowed to attend the event. Ido asks what kind of vase he requires and the patrician
points at the kantharos.

patrician stands before it in the same pose depicted on the vase. He makes a
speech about himself and toasts his guests using the kantharos. After finishing
the wine the patrician cries out in gusto and shatters the vase on the ground
right in front of Ido. The scene ends on Ido’s face he closes his eyes and
smiles.
Your story is really coming along nicely. There are a couple of problems with the formatting and the style of writing. I have done a quick rewrite of the first section and will send you this via email so you get the feel of how it should be written. Good work.
